My Favourite Five Lipsticks

Almost all the girls around the world love lipsticks and own alot of them. So I am one among those Girls. (Same pinch)

I can’t walk by a make up counter and not check out the lipsticks! it’s my thing. I love testing and trying new shades and kinds, and since I don’t do a whole lot when it comes to a make up routine, applying a bit of lipstick always helps me feel a little more put together than I might feel. There are so many types of Lipsticks (Frost, Satin, Matte etc) out there that its so hard to resist from buying them.

But again not all the shades are for everyone and look flattering on Indian Medium tone girls like me (btw I am shade NC42 in mac). We love a lot of shades but can’t buy them because of our skin tones but never mind we Medium tone girls can carry the warm tone lipsticks really well and that’s all matters.

I love all my lipsticks that I invest in, however I am listing down my Most Five Favourite Lipsticks of all time. P.S I am Matte lover so all of them are Matte and Retro matte Finishes. So here we go:

Mac Ruby Woo: This is one of my favourite MAC lipstick. Others are loyal to Russian Red or Red, but I pledge allegiance to MAC Ruby Woo, matte and cool toned of all bright red lipsticks. It is described as a “very matte vivid blue red [with a Retro Matte finish].” It’s a brightened, medium-dark red with strong, cool blue undertones and a matte finish. It is really drying on lips so always advised to apply lipbalm under it. It is intensely pigmented, but it really takes a lot of effort to get it on. Once on, it lasts for hours and hours and leaves a stain behind. Also blue tone lipsticks make our teeth appear more whiter This shade has been part of the permanent range for years.

Can be purchased from any Mac Store or online as well. In Sweden available even on Kicks.

Rating 4.5/5 for overly drying formula.

Urban Decay Tilt: It is described as a “matte bright orange.” It’s a brightened, coral-orange with warm undertones and matte finish. It had rich, intense pigmentation. Not only does it apply smooth and even but it remains smooth and even through the wear and never breaks away or flakes up on lips. Color lays well on my lips without falling into my natural lip lines. It is Beautiful on Indian skin tones as it is not that bright and eye catching yet subtle and chic.

Rating: 4/5 Tip of the lipstick should have been pointed inspite of flat.

Mac Flat out Fabulous: This is my recent purchase though this have been in the permament range for a while now. It is bright plum matte shade (with retro matte formula). It’s a brightened, medium-dark magenta pink with a matte finish. It has mostly opaque color coverage that has a lightly dry, stiffer consistency, so it does pull and drag on the lips, but it wears for hours without budging. It is somewhat drying over time. It is quite similar to ruby woo when it comes to dryness on lips. A pop of it and It automatically brightens up the face.

Can be purchased from any Mac Store or online as well. In Sweden available even on Kicks.

Mac Zac Posen Dangerously Red*: One of my recent purchases. This was a limited lipstick shade form Zac Posen Edition. This is described as a “blue fuchsia [with a Matte finish].” It’s a bold, bright, medium-dark fuchsia red with cool, blue undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had opaque color payoff with a creamy, smooth consistency that applied evenly and easily. This shade lasts for six hours approx, leaves behind a stain, and was neither drying nor hydrating over time. Mac All Fired up is darker (90% similar). I own All fired up as well and when compared you hardly see any difference however when it comes to formula, Dangerously red is Creamier than All Fired Up which is Retro Matte.

Mac Flamingo Park II Be Silly* – Another one from my recent purchases. Again this was also a limited lipstick shade from Flamingo Park II. It is described as a “hot fuchsia pink [with a Matte finish].” It’s a bold, bright, medium fuchsia-magenta with strong, blue undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had rich, opaque color payoff with a smooth, creamy consistency that was easy to apply and to wear. On me, the color goes strong even after six hours. Mac Embrace me is lighter (90% similar). This is a beautiful colour for Spring and summer.

Again not really sure if it is still available in mac stores India, maccosmeticssweden do not have these available anymore however maccosmeticsOfficial and kicks still have these available on the website.
